LONDONDERRY FORENSIC LABORATORY

NorthCE designed the firearm muzzle discharge exhaust ventilation system, as well as improvements to the room ventilation system for the ballistics test room, at the Londonderry Forensic Laboratory.

The use of HEPA filtration, flexible extraction arms and make-up exhaust allowed for adequate room ventilation as well as a high velocity source extraction system to remove lead particulates directly from the firearm muzzle upon blast during the testing process.  Associated power requirements were assessed and designed to accommodate the new mechanical services.
